Information Portal on Forest Policies, Institutions and Instruments
Home - About - Portal map
The EFI Policy Portal is dedicated to collect and display already existing information sources about forest and cross-secotral policy processes, instruments and institutions that have shaped and influenced the development of the pan-European forest sector. The main objective is to ensure easy access to structured and up-to-date forest policy information useful for forest policy research and advice. By providing a comprehensive overview of relevant information sources, the policy portal maps the complexity and dynamics of the pan-European forest policy arena. It provides also linkages between FOREST EUROPE Criteria and Indicators for Sustainable Forest Management and ToSIA indicators in relation to a particular forest policy process, instrument and institution.
Policy Processes
Political processes are the chains of activities and events, from the very beginning of raising an issue on the political agenda, to argumentation, possible confrontation, political struggle, coalition, negotiation, compromise, solution and finally to implementation. There is a complex network of global, pan-European, European Union (EU), regional and national policy processes which directly and indirectly shape and influence the development of the pan-European forest sector. For more information, please go to policy process.
