Abstract
Summary: Degeneration of central dopaminergic neurons is the most characteristic pathological feature of Parkinson's disease. It remains to be established to what extent these lesions explain the motor, cognitive and affective disorders observed in patients, but there are now some interesting clues to a possible solution.
