Abstract
The magnitude of Josephson critical current Ic in Josephson junctions involving anisotropic superconductors depends on the orientation n of the junction relative to the crystal axes of the anisotropic superconductor(s). This dependence, however, is mainly associated with the n dependence of the electrical resistance Rn; the product IcRn should be nearly n independent. This may provide an explanation for the experiment of Takeuchi et al.
