Michael K. Bergman
Michael K. Bergman is the CEO and co-founder of Structured Dynamics LLC, a provider of open source products and services to enable the semantic enterprise. He is also co-editor of the lightweight UMBEL subject concept ontology. For the past twenty years Mike has been an independent consultant, a Web scientist, and an entrepreneur. His AI3:::Adaptive Information blog (http://mkbergman.com) is widely read in the semantic Web and linked data space.[1]
Mike was CEO of Zitgist LLC, and for six years the co-founder, CTO and chairman of BrightPlanet Corporation, at which he first coined the term "deep Web." His previous software companies included VisualMetrics Corporation, a data warehousing firm, and TheWebTools Company, a pioneer in metasearch tools. Mike is a magna cum laude graduate of Pomona College in botany and was a doctoral candidate at Duke University in population genetics.
