Abstract

The thermal conductivity κ of the SmxTm1-xS system, exhibiting a semiconductor-metal phase transition at x ≃ 0.75-0.84, was determined in the temperature range 18-330 K. The thermal conductivity of the compositions with x > 0.8 was of phonon nature. An increase in the Tm content in the range x = 0-0.78 increased the electron contribution to κ. The Lorenz number L was anomalously large (L/L0 ≃ 2-3) for all the metallic compositions of SmxTm1-xS
