Abstract

A systematic study of the influence of interstitial hydrogen on the spin reorientation transitions (SRT) in R₂Fe₁₄ZH_x (R = Nd, Ho, Er, Tm; Z = B, C) is reported. The SRT temperatures, detected by measuring the ac magnetic susceptibility, show a non-monotonic dependence on x. Variation of the crystal field parameters under hydrogenation is deduced
