Science and Metadata Community, ou DC-SAM est le nom d'un groupe de travail du DCMI.
DC-SAM est un forum ouvert aux personnes ou aux institutions pour échanger des informations et connaissances sur les métadonnées qui décrivent les objets et données scientifiques (collecte suivant un processus méthodologique pour la recherche, l'analyse, la tracabilité, la diffusion etc). La curation des données scientifiques est un thème majeur de réflexion.
Ce groupe de travail est animé par :
- Jane Greenberg, SILS/MRC UNC ;
- et Stu Weibel, OCLC.

- Titre : NISO/National Federation of Advanced Information Services (NFAIS) Supplemental Journal Article Materials
- Brief abstract: This presentation will first introduce NISO. Background and outcomes of NISO led work in this area will be presented. Insights and questions will be offered to stimulate discussion on how this work relates to metadata for scientific data and opportunities promoting interchange and connecting with data repositories and other initiatives. - Titre: DataCite and the DataCite Metadata Kernel
- Brief abstract: DataCite is an international consortium that offers an easy way to connect an article published in a scholarly journal with the underlying data. The DataCite Metadata Kernel aims to support the larger goals of DataCite by recommending a standard citation format for datasets; providing the basis for interoperability with other data management schemas; promoting dataset discovery, and laying the groundwork for future services. This presentation will introduce DataCite and give an overview of the DataCite Metadata Kernel.
