Abstract

In the present work, we will attempt an extension of (relational) databases\, : \begin{itemize} \item[-]to represent fuzzy data with a new data type that we introduce termed Nuanced Information, \item[-]to give a new definition of the relational division operator in order to take into account the nuanced information. The new operator is called the Nuanced Relational Division. We show that this new operator resolves the problem of the identification of an observed object among a set of a known objects of the databases, \item[-]to introduce weights on attributes for expressing the pertinence in known objects and the trust in the observed object. \end{itemize} This work is based on possibility theory and fuzzy sets theory.
