Abstract

IF MANAGERS ARE RESPONSIBLE for designing consumer experiences, then Bryce Rutter argues that taking advance measurements—real, quantifiable measurements, not notes from focus‐group sessions—is essential to discovering opportunities, avoiding costly mistakes, and assuring the best fit. He is convinced the process is not as difficult as most think and amplifies this assertion with a discussion of several techniques and specific applications.
