Abstract
The incidence of lymphoedema after breast cancer surgery with axillary dissection varies according to different studies, from 15 to 47%. The risk is 60% higher in cases of axillary radiotherapy. A rehabilitation service was undertaken as part of a research project aiming to show the benefit of the early treatment of lymphoedema of the arm.
