Abstract
DATATOP (deprenyl and tocopherol antioxidative therapy of parkinsonism) is a multi-center trial designed to test the hypothesis that treatment with the antioxidative interventions, deprenyl and tocopherol, will slow the progression of the disease. The baseline database includes clinical information on 800 patients with early untreated PD. This large and carefully studied group of untreated patients provides an important resource to study the clinical expression of PD. In this report, we describe characteristics of this group at study entry
