Michael Burden<affiliation><mods:affiliation>Michael Burden, who is director of New Chamber Opera, was Lecturer in Music at New College, Oxford, from 1989, and is now Fellow in opera Studies and Reader in music of Oxford University. He is the author of Arne, Garrick and the Masque of Alfred and Purcell Remembered, and is commissioning editor of, and a contributor to A Woman Scorn'd; responses to the Dido myth, and other volumes on Purcell, including Henry Purcell's operas: the complete texts.
