Abstract
Édition annotée et traduction en italien de l'interview télévisée de Lord Harewood à Maria Callas, enregistrée en juin 1968 par la BBC et retransmise en décembre de la même année. De Médée à Tosca, le soprano saisit l'occasion de transmettre au public sa conception de ses plus grandes caractérisations opératiques, telles Norma, Anna Bolena, Violetta de La traviata et Carmen, dans un propos centré surtout sur sa formation vocale, sur sa collaboration avec les chefs d'orchestre et sur sa manière d'incarner un nouveau rôle, en même temps que sur quelques incursions dans d'autres personnages de son vaste répertoire parmi lesquels ressortent les héroïnes belliniennes (Il pirata, La sonnambula, I Puritani), donizettiennes (Lucia di Lammermoor) et verdiennes (Il trovatore). Aspects que souligne également la postface qui s'attache à relever le rôle qu'a joué la cantatrice dans le milieu intellectuel italien et international des années 1950-1960, notamment dans ses relations avec Pier Paolo Pasolini, ainsi que par le biais du portrait qu'en a fait Eugenio Montale.
