Abstract
Le zenaga, langue berbère issue de Mauritanie, est parlée dans une petite région située non loin de la rivière Sénégal. C'est une langue isolée géographiquement des autres langues berbères et comporte de ce fait des développements spécifiques, notamment au niveau phonologique et plus précisément au niveau des voyelles. En position finale de mot, les voyelles finales originelles ont développé un phonème relâché [h] ("off-glide"), pendant que les formes qui avaient à l'origine une occlusive glottale finale, ont perdu cette occlusive glottale sans développer [h]. L'A. examine cette particularité qui fait du zenaga un dialecte clé dans la reconstruction du proto-berbère
