Abstract
A S-curve in the exploitation of data is often associated to spatial diffusion. Its assimilation with the logistic model is misleading, it leads to an amalgam which masks the diversity of the mathematical models making it possible to model very different phenomena of diffusion. Three models are presented, they are expressed by the same S-curve, witch corresponds in fact to different models. -the logistic model is most usually used whereas it is by construction independent of space. A spatialized and probabilistic version of this model is confronted with its analytical and deterministic form. -contrary to the first, the model of "front diffusion" imposes a strong constraint of proximity. The diffusion depends then the length and on the form of the "front". -the third model is complex, it integrates the total logistic dimension of the growth, the local dimension of the front of diffusion and the temporal dimension of the vector of diffusion.

Trois modèles sont présentés, ils s’expriment par une même courbe en S qui correspond en fait à des modèles différents.- le modèle logistique est le plus couramment utilisé alors qu’il est par construction indépendant de l’espace. Une version spatialisée et probabiliste de ce modèle est confrontée à sa forme analytique et déterministe.- à l’opposé du premier, le modèle de diffusion par front impose une forte contrainte de proximité.
