Unconformity

Discordance

• angular unconformity : the younger and older set of strata are not parallel.
• disconformity : the younger and older set of strata are parallel and the contact plane between them is an erosion surface.
• nonconformity : the underlying older formation are igneous or metamophic rocks, the overlying younger formation are sedimentary rocks.
