Arsenolamprite

COLOR
White. Compared with arsenic, has a slightly blue-grey tint; arsenic is slightly yellower. Is ratherr difficult to polish. As for arsenic, scratches are difficult to avoid. Polishing hardness seems slightly greater than that of arsenic. Compared with arsenic, arsenolamprite stands up slightly in relief. It does not tarnish as quickly as arsenic.
REFLECTANCE
High. Slightly lower than arsenic.
ANISOTROPISM
Rather strong. Color effects are completely different from arsenic. Shows midnight-blue tints as does cubanite.
TEXTURE
The mineral occurs as lamellar grains enclosed in native arsenic. Shows a perfect cleavage, almost as good as graphite or molybdenite.
ASSOCIATED MINERALS
Arsenic, safflorite, tetrahedrite-tennantite, löllingite, native silver.
CRITERIA OF DETERMINATION
Midnight-blue polarization colors, perfectly developed cleavage and association with native arsenic provide positive identification.
