Elles donneront une tribune a la Communaut6 scientifique fran(;~se et europeenne travaillant sur des probl6matiques longitudinales a partir de données de panels ou d'enqu6tes r6trospectives (probl6matiques de durees, de transitions, d'itin6raires ou cheminements, d'histoire de vies, etc.). Les Joumées s'adressent d'abord aux 6conomistes travaillant dans le champ du social, mais restent ouvert a des chercheurs appartenant a des disciplines connexes a 1'6conomie, empruntant des m6thodologies longitudinales. Les communications vont se r6f6rer, principalement, a trois domaines: 1. 1'evaluation de 1'apport du longitudinal par rapport au transversal en economic sociale; 2. les questions m6thodologiques que posent la collecte de données socio-6conomiques longitudinales et leur traitement statistique; 3. l'investigation des grandes questions de 1'economie sociale selon une demarche longitudinale. Des communications de synthese tenteront de r6pondre a la question centrale "qu'est-ce que 1'analyse longitudinale nous apprend de nouveau comparativement aux r6sultats de 1'analyse en coupe instantan~e?". D'une part, quels sont les apports sp6cifiques du longitudinal, c'est-d-dire quelles sont les informations que seules des observations longitudinales permettent de saisir et, d'autre part, quels sont ses apports compl6mentaires aux approches en coupe instantan6e. Il y aura 6galement des communications plus m6thodologiques: d'une part, des communications relatives aux questions que pose la collecte d'informations socio-6conomiques longitudinales (collecte r6trospective versus prospective; la question de 1'attrition et de la pondération des echantillons permanents, les m6thodes d'imputation d'observations manquantes au sein d'une vague donn~e de panel, etc.). En effet, de nombreuses sources de donn6es r6trospectives (enquetes biographiques faisant appel a la 148 m6moire) ou prospectives (enqu6tes a passages repetes ou panels) ont vu le jour ces dernieres ann6es; les fruits de ces experiences trouveront leur place dans le programme des XVe Journées. D'autre part, il y aura des communications relatives aux instruments d'analyse permettant, par exemple, de classifier des cheminements (analyses qualitatives des cheminements, statistique descriptive, 6conom6trie, analyse de donn6es, etc.). Enfin, bien des domaines de 1'analyse 6conomique ont cherche a int6grer la dimension longitudinale, la compr6hension des itin6raires, des transitions, etc. Citons quelques exemples dans le champ de 1'6conomie sociale. Dans le domaine du travail et de 1'emploi, il y a: 1'analyse de la duree et de la r6currence du ch6mage; 1'analyse des transitions ecole-marche du travail; 1'analyse de la mobilite professionnelle. Dans le domaine des revenus, il y a: 1'analyse de la dynamique des niveaux de vie individuels: 1'analyse de la dynamique des salaires individuels; 1'analyse de la persistance dans la pauvreté mon6taire. Dans le domaine de la protection sociale, il y a: 1'analyse de la dur6e de presence des individus dans un programme de revenu garanti: 1'6valuation de mesures d'intervention sociale. Dans le domaine de la d6mo-6conomie, il y a: 1'analyse de la dur6e avant le mariage (ou remariage); 1'analyse des choix intertemporels de fecondite. Dans le domaine du logement, il y a: l'analyse de la d6cohabitation des jeunes; 1'analyse de 1'accession a la propri6t6, 1'analyse de la mobilite g6ographique. Dans le domaine de la sant6: 1'analyse de la survenance de la dependance chez les personnes dg6es; 1'analyse des transitions entre categories de patients. It is of relevance to researchers interested or involved in computer-assisted text analysis, irrespective of discipline. However, a special focus will be given to text analysis methods as implemented or implementable in the social sciences. Text analysis has long been an interdisciplinary pursuit. The added potential of information technology and the growing availability of computer readable corpora in fields as diverse as archaeology to discourse analysis have led to an increased activity and interest in the computer-assisted analysis of texts. The goal of the conference is twofold: on the one hand to present and discuss text analysis procedures being used or developed in applied research; on the other to promote and coordinate the innovative development of text analysis tools. Invited keynote speakers will open the conference with talks on current progress and problems in the three areas of computer-assisted content analysis, interpretative methods and computational linguistics. The papers and demonstrations at the conference should then reflect theoretical developments in a given field. At the podium discussion on the last day, invited speakers and participants will draw together their conclusions from the meeting. On the basis of these, a concrete effort will be made to pin-point an area or areas in which a coordinated research initiative can be started. Topics of to covered include: computer-assisted content analysis; computational linguistics; and computer-assisted qualitative analysis. There will be a focus on: content analysis methods; conceptual dictionaries and lexica; corpora; hypertext and text retrieval; literary and linguistic text analysis; semantic networks; tagging: interactional analysis: and conceptual knowledge organization (including artificial intelligence and machine translation).
