Abstract

Research in every field of science and engineering to lay the foundations for a cyberinfrastructure revolution is discussed. Astronomy and physics already benefit from the gravity-wave obseravtories that bring in data from all wavelengths and from ground and space-based telescopes to an international community of astronomers. Planned instruments and observational platforms will boost data collection from many fields like life sciences and earthquake engineering. Gaining insights from terabytes will speed the application of new knowledge to domestic and global problems.
