Abstract

An analytical derivation of the spectrum of multi-frequencies amplitude and phase modulated waves is presented with an attempt at pointing out certain characteristics of such a spectrum. Three special cases, which are of practical importance are studied and the significance of the phase shift between amplitude and phase modulation is discussed.
