Abstract

This paper describes several experiments which studied the speed of generating several styles of handwriting including block printing, manuscript, cursive and block printing in specified shapes and stroke sequences in boxes. Differences were observed between left-handers and right-handers. Also studied were the rates of recognizing the above characters by left-handed and right-handed subjects. The results characterize handedness with writing speed, legibility, character shapes and formation.
