Abstract

Ce dossier thématique des Études Épistémè coordonné par Claire Boulard Jouslin, aborde la question des influences et des transferts culturels entre la France et l’Angleterre tels qu’ils affleurent dans la presse des deux pays, du XVIIe siècle à l’aube du XIXe siècle. Les contributions de ce volume traitent aussi bien du rôle joué par la presse dans les transferts d’idées des deux côtés de la Manche que de la nature des transferts en matière de pratique journalistique.

            <abstract xml:lang="en">Ce dossier thématique des Études Épistémè coordonné par Claire Boulard Jouslin, aborde la question des influences et des transferts culturels entre la France et l’Angleterre tels qu’ils affleurent dans la presse des deux pays, du XVIIe siècle à l’aube du XIXe siècle. Les contributions de ce volume traitent aussi bien du rôle joué par la presse dans les transferts d’idées des deux côtés de la Manche que de la nature des transferts en matière de pratique journalistique.</abstract>
            <abstract xml:lang="fr">This volume examines the way the English and French journals were affected by cross cultural transfers between the mid 17th century and the early 19th century. It attempts to show that the transfer was working both ways between France and England. It  mainly highlights how complex the process of transfer was. Cultural, political, economic and social  factors  all  shaped the format as well as the practice of journalism in both countries. The periodicals studied range from libels and newspapers to essay periodicals and critical review periodicals.</abstract>
