Abstract

Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) and cooled optically stimulated luminescence (COSL) in CaSO4:Dy, CaF2:Tm and LiF TLD-700 was tested and compared for radiation dosimetry. In CaSO4:Dy, the OSL output of unirradiated TLDs was four times that of its COSL output; however, there was no significant difference in the net OSL and the net COSL outputs of irradiated TLDs. CaF2:Tm exhibited feeble and short libed COSL and is hence unsuitable for COSL dosimetry. In LiF, COSL appears to have some potential for radiation dosimetry
