Abstract

Abstract: The polarization of internal conversion electrons produced in some transitions occurring after β-decay of Tm170, Re186, Hg203 and Pa233 has been measured. The conversion electrons were found to be polarized in the direction of emission of the β-particles from Tm170 and Re186 and opposite to the direction of emission of β-particles from Hg203 and Pa233. The most probable values of the ground state spins of β-decaying nuclei are determined for Hg203 and Pa233. Agreement between the experimental and theoretical results has been obtained for Tm170 and Re186 for which all transition constants are known.
