Abstract

Abstract: With a differentially pumped gas target for 20Ne, and an isolating nickel foil for 21Ne and 22Ne, absolute differential cross sections for proton groups from the 20Ne(d, p12)21Ne, 21Ne(d, p1–8)22Ne and 22Ne(d, p6)23Ne reactions have been measured at 3 MeV. The results indicate a direct reaction mechanism and good agreement is obtained with angular distributions from DWBA calculations. These comparisons allow a determination of parities and spectroscopic factors for the following states: 21Ne, 4.73 MeV; 22Ne, 1.277, 4.473, 5.139, 5.34, 5.520 and 5.633 MeV; and 23Ne, 3.22 MeV.
