Abstract
The stopping powers of 1.0–3.0 MeV of helium (4He) in Makrofol KG, Mylar and Kapton were measured. The results were compared with scanty experimental data in the literature and with values predicted by both Bragg’s rule and cores-and-bonds model. These values agree with each other within the uncertainties; maximum deviations are <5%.
