Abstract

Domains of composition of Cd2-xAxP2O7, 0≤x≤2, A≡Sr, Mg, and Ni, have been established by powder diffraction methods. Solid solutions have been found near Cd2P2O7 and A2P2O7, A≡Sr, Mg and Ni. New phases have been identified using single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The mixed diphosphates CdPbP2O7 and CdCoP2O7 crystallize in the triclinic space group P1; CdSrP2O7 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c
