Abstract

Abstract: Bones have been collected from different geological sites, the sediment and the age of which being different. Comparizon between the mineral and organic phases shows the very fast alteration of the organic matrix in recent bones. Fossil bones show a loss in the organic matrices. Moreover, insoluble and soluble organic matrix alterations differ in a single bone. Implications of the diagenesis in palaeoenvironmental reconstruction and phylogeny are evoked.

<p>Résumé: L'analyse de la structure et de la composition des phases minérales, ainsi que de la composition des phases organiques d'os fossiles d'âges et d'origines géographiques variés, récoltés dans des sédiments différents, montre une grande hétérogénéité dans le degré de conservation des divers composants. La comparaison de l'état de la phase minérale et de la matrice organique indique une dégradation très rapide de la phase organique dans les os actuels, et une forte diminution chez les fossiles. Non seulement la quantité mais aussi la qualité des phases organiques sont modifiées par la diagenèse. De plus, dans un même spécimen, les modalités de diagenèse des phases organiques solubles et insolubles diffèrent. Les implications de ces modifications pour les reconstitutions paléoenvironnementales ou la recherche de parenté sont envisagées.</p>

<abstract lang="en">Abstract: Bones have been collected from different geological sites, the sediment and the age of which being different. Comparizon between the mineral and organic phases shows the very fast alteration of the organic matrix in recent bones. Fossil bones show a loss in the organic matrices. Moreover, insoluble and soluble organic matrix alterations differ in a single bone. Implications of the diagenesis in palaeoenvironmental reconstruction and phylogeny are evoked.</abstract>
<abstract lang="fr">Résumé: L'analyse de la structure et de la composition des phases minérales, ainsi que de la composition des phases organiques d'os fossiles d'âges et d'origines géographiques variés, récoltés dans des sédiments différents, montre une grande hétérogénéité dans le degré de conservation des divers composants. La comparaison de l'état de la phase minérale et de la matrice organique indique une dégradation très rapide de la phase organique dans les os actuels, et une forte diminution chez les fossiles. Non seulement la quantité mais aussi la qualité des phases organiques sont modifiées par la diagenèse. De plus, dans un même spécimen, les modalités de diagenèse des phases organiques solubles et insolubles diffèrent. Les implications de ces modifications pour les reconstitutions paléoenvironnementales ou la recherche de parenté sont envisagées.</abstract>
