  • Endodystric (ny): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of less than 50 percent throughout between 50 and 100 cm from the soil surface.
  • Epidystric (ed): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of less than 50 percent throughout between 20 and 50 cm from the soil surface.
  • Hyperdystric (hd): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of less than 50 percent throughout between 20 and 100 cm from the soil surface, and less than 20 percent in some layer within 100 cm of the soil surface.
  • Orthodystric (dyo): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of less than 50 percent throughout between 20 and 100 cm from the soil surface.
