- Endoeutric (ne): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of 50 percent or more throughout between 50 and 100 cm from the soil surface.
- Epieutric (ee): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of 50 percent or more throughout between 20 and 50 cm from the soil surface.
- Hypereutric (he): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of 50 percent or more throughout between 20 and 100 cm from the soil surface and 80 percent or more in some layer within 100 cm of the soil surface.
- Orthoeutric (euo): having a base saturation (by 1 M NH4OAc) of 50 percent or more throughout between 20 and 100 cm from the soil surface.
