Abstract
A comparison is made between green telematics, as developed in the 1980s and Internet services which are being developed today. The situation is studied from three points of view: users, service providers and authors. Advantages and limits concerning information content, technical environment and ergonomic dimension of applications are discussed, together with the possibility of migration of services from old-fashioned videotex applications to the Internet, or coexistence of both systems. The particular case of French Minitel services, which already had a significant impact in the in the 1980s, is studied.
