Abstract

Abstract: The screening constant can be decomposed into a sum of different terms over the different atomic shells. This decomposition visualizes the electron distribution. The energy levels which are calculated by means of these constants agree well with the experimental values for the inner-shells. Our method is therefore complementary to Slater's used for the outer shells.
