Abstract
One key task of a Software Factory is to support software projects in the generation, coherent evolution and management of the vast amount of objects and associated information which are generated all along the software life cycle. The objective of this paper is to describe a list of facilities for object typing that should be offered by an OMS for CASE. Each facility is explained and pointers in the literature are given. The classification produced in that way is then reused for evaluating CAIS-A and PCTE+ capabilities for CASE object type management.
