Abstract
Iris fixation of posterior chamber intraocular lenses (lOLs) is a technique that has been recommended for patients in whom a posterior chamber IOL is indicated but there is insufficient capsular support. We present 4 cases of iris-fixated posterior chamber lOLs with complications related to the procedure. Three patients developed postoperative slippage of the IOL, and 1 patient presented with iris erosion of the haptic leading to recurrent hemorrhage. Three cases were repaired by resuturing the same IOL using iris fixation, and in the last case IOL exchange with transscleral fixation of a posterior chamber IOL was performed. Final follow-up revealed stable lOLs in all cases.
