Abstract
In order to reduce transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, healthcare workers in the UK are advised to wear personal protective equipment (PPE). When undertaking aerosol-generating procedures, Public Health England recommends the use of gloves, gown, filtering mask and full-face visor or goggles . Despite this, uncertainty remains regarding the role of some items of PPE, such as hoods and visors .
