Abstract
One Health is an approach that recognizes the linkages among human, animal and ecosystem health domains. Canada has only to look to its experiences with diseases such as H1N1, SARS, Lyme disease or West Nile virus to recognize the importance of considering diseases at the animal-human-ecosystem interface. In moving forward, an approach that truly embodies the principles of One Health should also consider the social, cultural, economic and chronic dimensions of health.
