Abstract

The purpose of the present paper is to describe recent progress in the study of two molecules of atmospheric interest, namely nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2). This progress has led to updates in the 1996 version of the HITRAN database. Also some recommendations for the future will be given.
