Abstract
Piwi proteins interact with specific small RNAs (piRNAs) and control germline development. Piwis are shown to undergo arginine methylation in mouse, Drosophila and Xenopus. In Drosophila, dPRMT5 methylates the Piwi proteins Ago3 and Aub and thereby controls their stability as well as piRNA levels.
