Abstract

Abstract: A solid-phase microtiter immunoradiometric assay was developed for Autographa californica enveloped nucleocapsids purified from polyhedra, nonoccluded virus from cell culture, and purified polyhedrin. Comparative studies with antigens and antisera from each source demonstrate that micro-solid-phase immunoradiometric assay was specific within the range of 10–200 ng for the enveloped nucleocapsids and from 200 pg to 200 ng for polyhedrin. A preliminary study also demonstrated the ability to use this assay to detect specific antiviral antibodies.
