Abstract
Abstract: I. The adiabatic invariants1 turn out quite useful in describing nonconservative systems with slowly changing parameters. The examples of their existence are well-known. Thus, for an oscillator such adiabatic invariant is the ratio of the oscillator energy (E) its frequency ((d), which remains constant under slow changes of the latter (as compared with the period). If we take a charged particle moving in a weakly variable magnetic field (H), its adiabatic invariant is P⊥/H (P⊥ is a particle momentum component, perpendicular to the field). In this Lecture we want to point out that such an adiabatic invariant does exist for the finite motion of a charged particle emitting electro-magnetic waves in the Coulomb field.
