Abstract
There has been an increase in the provision of implant-supported prostheses in patients unable to tolerate conventional dentures. Unfortunately, many patients are unable to benefit from this treatment option because of anatomical, medical or financial constraints. Magnet-retained overdentures represent a potential treatment option in many of these cases. This article describes the development, advantages, complications and clinical procedures associated with the provision of tooth-supported, magnet-retained overdentures.
