Abstract
Eremotherium sefvei nov. sp., the smallest post-Miocene megatheriine species, is described. It is based on the left femur of an adult individual, PIU M4535, from the Pleistocene of Ulloma, Bolivia. In addition to its small size, the femur of E. sefvei is distinguished by its nearly parallel-sided lateral and medial margins, markedly expanded and concave patellar trochlea, and elongated and constricted neck.
