Abstract

Abstract: Markov models were introduced by the Russian mathematician Andrey Andreyevich Markov (1856–1922). Markov was a student of Pafnuty Chebyshev and worked amongst others in the field of number theory, analysis, and probability theory. From 1906 on, Markov published his first works on time dependent random variables.
