Abstract
The Magnificat has an important place in the, childhood history' of Luke; it is an interpretation of the event between Mary and Elizabeth. Many theological motives are also found in the narrative part of Luke. The reader of the Magnificat should be aware of central themes of Lukian theology already present at the beginning of the gospel. The following essay is focused on the connections between the Magnificat and the central narrative part of Luke and the question of the function of the magnifical hymn.
