Abstract

The incidence of accessory orifices in the pulpalfloor and in the furcation area of 40 human molars (20 young and 20 adult molars) was studied using scanning electron microscopy. The incidence of accessory foramina in the furcation area was higher than the incidence of orifices in the pulp chamber floor (60.0% and 12.5%, respectively). The difference between age groups was not statistically significant.
