A member of the Music Educators Journal Editorial Board, Willis is now concert manager and lecturer in music history and literature at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. St. Andrews Presbyterian College, Laurinburg, North Carolina, has announced the appointments of Emily J. Ellsworth and Lee R. Kesselman as assistant professors in the music program. Harper succeeds Max Mitchell, who has retired after forty years as an OSU faculty member. Mitchell served as chairman of the department for thirty-four years. Michael Williamson has been appointed marching band director at Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. For the past five years, he held the position of director of bands at Vestal (New York) High School. Among other duties at the university, Williamson will be an administrative assistant in the music department and will teach a course on marching band techniques. The University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, Connecticut, has appointed Richard DeBaise as acting chairman of the music department.
