This page introduces work material for the bass voices. It concerns the Kyrie (A Thiarna) of the Irish Mass by Gilles Mathieu.

Foreword

This article is a working document rather intended for the singers who sing this piece.

If you do not know the Irish Mass of Gilles Mathieu, we advise you to visit the page which presents this work in its entirety.

These scores are a transcription in LilyPond of the reference version available on Gilles Mathieu's website[1].

A Thiarna by the Vocal Ensemble of INSA Lyon[2]

Before going into the detail of the alto score, you can listen to this Kyrie in one of the first concerts given in 2007.

Part A

The piano score is deliberately reduced:

  • complete for the first 2 bars (for training startup),
  • then limited to the left hand on 2 bars (for rhythm).
