| Bryce Lyon is Barnaby C. and Mary Critchfield Keeney Professor of Medieval History (Emeritus) at Brown University (1965–1986). He has published extensively on feudalism, medieval financial institutions, and medieval constitutionalism with special emphasis upon England, France, and the Low Countries. He has also written books and articles on the lives of Henri Pirenne and Marc Bloch and on their contributions to history. Having done much research in the English, French, and Belgian archives, Professor Lyon has also edited medieval financial records as well as correspondence between Henri Pirenne, Karl Lamprecht, Marc Bloch, and Lucien Febvre. and Lucien Febvre.
