Abstract
Simple performance-based goals, such as processing speed or recognition rates, are important in the research of character recognition, but will not produce a recognition method that can satisfactorily function as a user interface. This paper presents a recognition method based on a dynamic model which uses familiar concepts of springs and potential, allowing the user to grasp the workings of the recognition system and helping to promote its acceptance and user friendliness. Experiments carried out on this method are detailed, and the results of 94.57% show its effectiveness, as well as its ability to fulfil human interface needs.
