Abstract

This work presents a new approach for modeling panic phenomena in crisis situation. We aim for integrate cognitive, emotional and physical human dimension to get realistic individual behaviors and an epidemiological approach to study panic spreading on crowd. The work is divided into two interdependent and complementary parts namely crowd mobility study and panic phenomena study. The study of mobility is the basis of the model; it's built in an individual centered approach in which individuals interact with each other and with their environment to produce coherent behavior. The model of panic is added as a layer that can change the pattern of mobility by changing the flow of the system. Mobility and panic form then a complex system where they interact and influence each other.This work is also interested in an aggregated study of panic spreading process. This study comes to represent panic spreading in a different level of granularity. We propose a mathematical formulation of the model by ordinary deferential equations (ODE). We study then the dynamics growth of panicked peoples and the dynamics of panic diffusion on crowd.This joint working approach helps strengthen the complementarity between the microscopic behavior patterns and macroscopic dynamic
